Sexual Assault Awareness Month is held during October each year to raise community awareness about sexual violence, to promote the support options available to people affected by sexual assault and sexual abuse, and to uphold a clear message that sexual violence will not be tolerated in our communities. Reclaim the Night is a global event where men and women stand up against sexual violence and communities take control and respond to sexual violence against women,

This year, the Gladstone Women’s Health Centre is holding a “RECLAIM THE NIGHT” fun run/walk event follow by a Candle Lighting Vigil. The run starts at the Marina Parklands and end at East Shores. Barbecue food and drink will be on sale provided by the Port Curtis Rotary Club.

*Men, Women and Children are encouraged to participate, though children do not require registration.
